Humanitarian Tournament “Ball to Clear” – 2011

The first humanitarian soccer tournament “Knowledge Ball” organized by Rotaract club Belgrade Dedinje, was held on the Kolos raft on March 6, 2011. The campaign was created at the suggestion of Igor Mijatović and soon became a traditional Club campaign. 8 football teams participated in the first tournament. The goal of the event was to use the money from the team’s registration fee to pay for English language and computer lessons for children suffering from leukemia and children from homes for neglected children.

Football tournaments under the same name were held in the following years: October 19, 2013, October 25, 2014, October 17, 2015 and November 5, 2016. The last tournament jointly organized by Rotary and Rotaract Club Belgrade Dedinje was held on 26th November 2017, under the slogan – Ball to knowledge against Polio. A large number of Rotaract Clubs participated in these tournaments, and friends from Novi Sad, Sremska Mitrovica and Niš often came to visit us as guests.

The last tournament was won by the ekim of the Rotary Club Belgrade Dedinje, which included current members of the Rotary Club Belgrade Terazije Igor Mijatović and Nikola Stojadinović. Our charter President Igor Mijatović was declared the best goalkeeper in the tournament.

We hope that the new generations in Rotaract will recognize the idea and organize new tournaments in the years ahead.
