Humanity, Friendship, and Cooperation: Donation of a Specialized Vehicle for the Children of Zvečanska
As part of a humanitarian initiative to donate a specialized vehicle for the children of the Zvečanska institution, we had the honor of hosting our dear friends from the Rotary Club Lausanne West and spending three unforgettable days together.
Our gathering began on Thursday, March 20, when we welcomed our guests at the Madera restaurant in Belgrade. In a warm and inspiring atmosphere, we exchanged experiences about the work of Rotary clubs in Serbia and Switzerland and discussed plans for future collaboration.
Friday was a special day – together, we officially handed over the donated vehicle to the Zvečanska institution. The handover ceremony was attended by the Swiss Ambassador to Serbia, numerous donors, and friends of our clubs who contributed to making this important initiative a reality. After the ceremony, we continued our celebration with a formal lunch at the Grafičar restaurant. You can read more details about the donation here.
On Saturday, March 22, we organized a trip to Orašac and Topola to introduce our guests to the history and culture of Serbia. The visit began at Marićeva Jaruga, the site where the First Serbian Uprising was launched, and continued with a tour of Oplenac, the Church of Saint George, the house and endowment of King Peter, and the royal wine cellar, where we had the opportunity to taste exquisite red and white wines.
This gathering strengthened our friendship and opened the door to new projects. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the Rotary Club Lausanne West and eagerly anticipate our return visit in the second half of the year.
