International activity – floods in Serbia (June 2014)
The Rotaract Club Belgrade Dedinje is in cooperation with the members of the Rotaract Club Lyon from France and the Rotaract Club Amsterdam from the Netherlands in the period from 05.-09. In June 2014, he successfully implemented his first international humanitarian action – Help to the elementary school “Petar Vragolić” from Ljubovija. We are very pleased that on this occasion we had the honor to host our friends in Serbia and to hand over aid to the school together. Computers, projectors, hygiene products, notebooks, crayons, books, rulers, protractors and other school supplies were donated to the school. The total weight of donated items exceeds 500 kg.
We saw off our new friends at the airport on Monday at 8 o’clock. We didn’t have the strength for a long greeting, maybe it’s better that way. Despite the fact that we come from a small country, we managed to present all the best that our people have, and the word “thank you” still echoes in our heads. At the end of it all, we get a French flag as a gift, where everyone has written a word:
Kevin: “Thank you so much. I was French and now I’m Serbian, too. We cannot forget you and these days will stay in my mind. Long live. And go Red Star!”
Agata: “Thank you so much for this wonderful time in Serbia. We felt so welcome and we enjoyed everything. See you again in Belgrade! We will definitely be back soon.”
Louise (Lulu): “Merci pour ce fabuleux sejour! Thank you all for this amazing trip in Serbia – lots of love.”
Romen (Roman the 1st): “I’ve just one world in my mind. THANK YOU! You offered us a part of Serbia which we will never forget. Thank you for everything we are waiting for you in Lyon. Cheers!”
Roman (Roman the 2nd): “Wonderful time with wonderful people! I will come back for sure!”
The moment has come for us to say “Thank you” to our friends.
Thank you for existing, for being our guests, for making us happy and proud, and finally, a big THANK YOU for the help you brought with you to Serbia.
